Three Generations
The family behind it

Three Generations, One Standard

The story starts in Davenport, Iowa, where Neil and Austin's grandfather built Iowa-Illinois Termite & Pest Control, still operating today. Their father came up through that company, moved the family to Connecticut, and opened his own shop in Simsbury. He raised his sons in the trade the way a coach raises a player: relationships first, technique second, honesty and availability always.

After his passing, Neil and Austin opened Green Pest Control in 2017 to carry the torch. Today Neil holds the supervisory license and directs operations; Austin is in the field alongside Andre, and Steven runs the office, himself a client since 2020. It's a small, accountable team on purpose: the people who answer your call are the people who show up.

What happens when you call

The Same Fair Process, for Years, Because It Works

You Reach a Real Person

No phone tree, no salesman. Not sure what you're dealing with? Send us photos using our form fill and we'll try to identify concerns before anyone schedules anything.

We Schedule a Free Evaluation

Free, on-site visit for everyone nearby when needed. It's a walkthrough to find the problem and map a plan, not a formal inspection report. We confirm the day before and again within 20 minutes of our arrival.

We Find the Real Cause, Not Just the Symptom

We look for the structural and environmental factors drawing pests in. Fix what's pulling them in, and you need far less chemical intervention to keep them out.

You Get a Clear Scope and Price, Then You Decide

A plain-language recommendation, scope, and cost. No pressure, no contract. Our prices are at or below market average and always reflect our desire to earn long-term relationships with clients.

Most Work Can Be Done the Same Day

Once you authorize it, most recommendations are completed the same day as the evaluation, by the same licensed team, not a subcontractor.

“Took my call on a holiday and really tried to help me. They were not able to provide what I needed but I'm very appreciative of the help they offered over the phone and texting photos with me. Great customer service.”

What We Treat Across the Farmington Valley

Ants and mice are our two biggest focuses, but most of our work is preventative, keeping pests of concern from being able to re-establish.

Ant Control

Odorous house, pavement and little black ants: colony-level treatment that beats the do-it-yourself, spray and spread cycle.

Carpenter Ant Control

Wood-damaging carpenter ants in walls and trim. We make the structure inhospitable.

Mouse Control

Year-round mouse pressure in Valley homes: eliminate the population, then seal, in the right order.

Rat Control

Rising rat activity near rivers and mixed neighborhoods, a different game than mice.

Rodent Exclusion

Our signature: seal the entry points after the population's controlled, minimizing death and odors indoors.

Wasps, Hornets & Yellow Jackets

Hidden in-wall yellow-jacket nests, paper wasps, bald-faced hornets, often same-day.

Carpenter Bee Control

Spring and Summer drilling along roof-rake boards and soffits, ongoing prevention is key.

Occasional Invaders

Stink bugs, lady beetles, boxelder bugs: prevention limits these insects from laying eggs within the exterior framework.

Termite Control

Termidor High Efficiency liquid soil treatment, the fastest acting and most efficient treatment on earth.

Cockroach Control

Adulticide-plus-growth-inhibitor programs that eliminate adults and stop reproduction simultaneously.

Bed Bug Control

Adulticide plus growth inhibitor, guided by correct identification first, ending reproduction the low-risk way.

Vole & Mole Control

Tunneling voles and moles disrupt root systems and turf; targeted baiting and burrow treatment stop damage before it spreads.

Commercial & Multi-Unit

Offices, retail, and property-management housing: response managers rely on.

Household Pest Control

Spiders, crickets, earwigs, centipedes and more, handled with one exterior-focused plan and minimal indoor intervention.

Preventative Maintenance Plans, No Contracts

You stay because it works, not because you signed something.

Walking a homeowner through the scope on site

Local Roots, Deep Connection

Neil and Austin grew up in the Simsbury school system; the family has called the Valley home for over 40 years. We know the fieldstone foundations and wooded lots because we live with them too.

Eco-Conscious Expertise

We limit indoor pesticide use, lean on IPM to reduce chemical use altogether, and treat the causes, not just the symptom. We only utilize industry-leading, low-risk materials when it calls for it. Low-risk means low in toxicity and hazard, applied in fewer zones, and chosen to protect pollinators and other beneficial insects. We don't cut corners on materials to protect our margins. You get industry-leading products, never weak substitutes. Green means thoughtful, not weak.

Real Termite Expertise

Treated in-house with Termidor High Efficiency, never subcontracted. Our owner has personally resolved more than 2,500 termite problems over the past 20 years.

A Small, Accountable Team

One team that remembers your home, your history, and what worked last time. Diligent internal notes and communication allow for valuable data when it is needed.

FAQ

Questions We Get on the First Call

How much does it cost?

Every concern is different. A free evaluation is often offered when it helps us with the scope and cost, and means no gray areas. Our prices are at or below market average and always reflect our desire to earn long-term relationships with clients. Our materials and techniques remain superior to the alternatives.

Are you a local company?

Yes, we truly are. Many of our competitors brand themselves as local, but are actually spread thin over multiple states and territories, or have thick corporate structure leading the decisions that impact you. We are a privately-owned, non-franchised organization; we gladly answer to our clients instead of shareholders or upper-management.

Are the treatments safe for my kids and pets?

Yes. Our approach is built around indoor use and low-risk, professional-grade materials only where needed. Treated areas are safe as soon as they dry, usually under 20 minutes depending on temperature and humidity.

Do you make me sign a contract?

No. Your initial visit is one rate; prevention continues at our discounted rates only as long as you choose to keep it. You can stop anytime.

How fast can you come out? Can you do it the same day?

Most recommendations can be completed the same day as the evaluation once you authorize the work. We confirm the day before and again within 20 minutes of our arrival.

Can you tell me what pest I have from a photo?

Often, yes. Send us a photo of the insect, damage, or evidence (before disposing of it) and we can usually identify it and tell you the right next step.

What makes you green, and does green mean weak?

Green means thoughtful, not weak. We limit indoor pesticide usage, use IPM to find non-chemical strategies, and care about environmental causes. We only use industry-leading, low-risk materials where needed. Aggressive elimination of the source and protecting beneficial organisms are not mutually exclusive.
